Optimist Coffee Traders was founded by leaders who spearheaded the growth of America’s first importer specializing in coffee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
They joined forces to build on their respective successes and expertise to optimize the process of getting quality Congolese, and other African coffees to buyers across the world.
We’re optimistic about what’s possible when farmers, cooperatives, importers, and roasters unite around a common vision: to build a coffee industry rooted in fairness, sustainability, and shared prosperity.
